I recently had a chance to revise a presentation that Serus did last year regarding our technology stack.

Technology Wheel

We take the perspective that there are four primary technologies that we integrate:

  • Enterprise Information Integration (EII) – this is the basis for our Enterprise Bridge and our common data model, into which all of the information needed for Operations Management can be collected.
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) – this is technology that enables one system to carry out operations on another system.  It also contains the basis for web services and security.
  • Business Process Management (BPM) – this deals with the workflows and business logic.
  • Scenario-Based Analytics – this is not yet one of the “three letter acronyms” that is commonly used, as it is something that we are driving.  It focuses on the generation of scenarios of possible business information changes, in order to provide choices for handling a situation with a business/economic analysis.
